Romney Mendacity

The Republican candidate’s contempt for the electorate was on full display yesterday when he claimed he would protect Social Security and Medicare, assure universal health coverage and protect against the denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions. Actually his party’s platform and his own past statements flatly contradict all of this. He is like a little boy with mud all over him who insists he has been inside the house all day. He believes that people will ignore his statements of the past and accept what he is saying. This mendacity beggars the imagination. It is disqualifying.
